Enter Kristen Kitaji. We were a bit nervous using somebody that we didn’t know in an area we were unfamiliar with. However, as we were looking to settle in the area and purchase a home remotely (thanks pandemic!), we didn’t have much choice, and I can safely say our leap of faith has paid off pretty spectacularly. And in the current market, as a first-time home buyer, I feel absolutely blessed that Kristen crossed our path and was with us every step of the way to homeownership. In the past we have dealt with agents who were either dismissive of us as first-time home buyers, assuming we weren’t the effort in a high-value market, or who operated with the interest of rushing a purchase for the sake of securing their commission, regardless of whether it was best for us or not. Those experiences have made us keenly aware, highly skeptical, and deeply intolerant of such behavior. And not even the slightest hint of this came from Kristen. Ever. In fact, quite the opposite was true. In times when we placed our trust in her, she was never self-serving but sincerely put our needs above all else. Both when we began our search for budget entry-level homes, and when we expanded our budget into a more mid-range real estate (for the area). Both when we began searching from out of state, and later when we arrived in person. It did not matter what our circumstances were, she acted with the same level of integrity and consistency regardless. She was incredibly accurate in understanding the value of a home, what to offer, and when to offer it. She was highly strategic in regard to maximizing our chances of securing a home for the best possible price to us. She played hard ball Negotiating when needed. She advised us to walk away when it put us at risk. She was always respectful of our time and was always available when we needed her. She was clear and concise in communication. Having grown up here, she seemed to have limitless (and highly beneficial) connections at every turn, with everyone from listing agents to handymen to financial institutions. Even now after closing she is helping us both with finding a contractor and dealing with the county. Literally, every part of our home-buying process was graciously facilitated by her, and she made it seamless and stress-free. So in summary, If you are looking for a trustworthy real estate agent who is damn good at their job, congratulations… you just won the real estate agent lottery with this one! Thank you, Kristen, truly, for taking such good care of our family in what could very well be the biggest purchase of our lives. We are eternally grateful, and any client will be lucky to have you.

Now settling into our new home, it has everything we need, our kids love it and the house two doors down, with the exact floor plan as ours, is currently in contract for $200k+ more than what Kristin was able to get our house for. Kristin treats you like family, she is empathetic, on top of it, and HUSTLES for her clients. I cannot thank her enough and actually look forward to doing this all over again with her. Kristen is a joy to work with. We found Kristen by accident, but we are so thankful we met her. From showing homes to answering calls and questions, she always made time for us. I was amazed at how quickly Kristen responded to us every time we needed advice or assistance. Kristen is kind, and friendly, and will go the extra mile for you to make sure you are happy. We are so thankful we found our dream home and Kristen made it possible. She made us feel like family and we felt like we gained a friend. Kristen is very responsive, very knowledgeable, and has a good sense of humor to go along with her many skills. She very quickly understood our need to acquire a condo in the Monterey area and helped us focus. She is very quick to respond to questions and concerns as they arise, and this is a very important skill that kept us on track, and calm. Her communication skills are also very good - she's clear and to the point. She definitely understands the nuances of the numerous process steps required to buy a property. Her follow-through after the sale on a few minor issues was also very good - she stuck with us to resolve them, even though technically the sale was 'done.' I give Kristen my highest recommendation. She is a knowledgeable, competent, kind, caring, respectful and all-around nice person to deal with!
